Mangaluru, Oct 8: A massive fire broke out at the warehouse of a fish food processing unit in Kotepur, causing losses worth several lakh rupees. Locals alleged that despite having 14 fish mills in operation, basic safety measures such as ambulances and fire brigade vehicles were absent, putting the public at risk.
The fire engulfed the MAP Fish Food warehouse owned by Khadar in the evening. Flames quickly spread inside the warehouse and extended outside, prompting local residents to douse the fire with water in an attempt to control it.
After a long delay, fire brigade vehicles from Mangaluru arrived and took charge of extinguishing the blaze. Ullal police were present at the site.
