Restaurant owners Jena and Gino Seferi are back in the business of serving breakfast.

The former owners of Morning Edition Cafe in Flower Mound have opened Daytrip Diner in Grapevine, moving into the former location of Waffle Way.

The Seferis sold the Flower Mound cafe, which they opened in 2019, in 2023. A text message last year from a former regular at the Flower Mound business told them about Waffle Way closing .

“Grapevine chose us,” Jena Seferi said. “God put us in the right place.”

Since taking over the business in November 2024, the two have remodeled the former Waffle Way spot from the ground up with new floors, booths and walls in the 1,600-square-foot space. Jena Seferi said they went through a few variations of a floor plan to ensure they took advantage of the space.
