SPOKANE, Wash. -- A first round of votes in a special election appear to show voters are vastly rejecting a proposal to add a plot of land to Pasadena Park's irrigation district.
The proposal was controversial in the small community as residents were concerned about the strain of the resources. Proponents wanted to expand the irrigation district to help advance a housing development.
According to the district, initial results show approximately 600 votes against and approximately 20 for.
Results will not be official until all votes, including absentee ballots are counted by October 15.
