Pune, October 8, 2025: The Pune District Health Department, in collaboration with the District Hospital, Aundh, and Pune Municipal Corporation, will organize a Pulse Polio Vaccination Drive on Sunday, October 12, 2025. All children aged 0 to 5 years will be administered the polio vaccine, said Dr. Ramchandra Hankare, District Health Officer.
As part of the mission to achieve a “Polio-Free India,” the campaign aims to vaccinate a total of 5,76,497 children in both urban and rural areas, including 5,06,809 in rural regions and 69,690 in urban areas.
Across the district, 4,223 polio booths will be set up, supported by 10,318 personnel, including health workers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA volunteers, and local NGOs. Children missed during the main drive will receive vaccinations through a house
