BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Two local organizations have joined forces to raise awareness about domestic violence in the capital area. The partnership between Help and Hope of Ascension and 411 for Women aims to educate the public, support survivors, and advocate for policy change.

A Resilience Rising March is Saturday, October 11, at 10 a.m. in Gonzales, starting at Cornerview and Highway 44. The march will end at Jambalaya Park.

The groups will host a fundraising run/walk in Baton Rouge at Independence Community Park on Sunday, October 19, at 12 p.m. They are trying to raise $25,000 to open a community center to support anyone dealing with domestic violence.
