LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — East Lawrence High School Football program has been fined and will forfeit all wins the team secured while an ineligible player was on the field.

According to the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), the football program has also been placed on probation, for playing an ineligible player in violation of the AHSAA Transfer Rule.

As a result, East Lawrence must forfeit its non-region win over Lawrence County High School and its region win over West Limestone High School.

The ineligible player was assessed restitution for the contests he participated in while ineligible.
