This year marks a decade for me as president of the University of Massachusetts and one of the things I am most proud of is the growth of the university’s research enterprise across the five-campus system.

UMass has become a research powerhouse in everything from climate change to cures for cancer. The university attracted $869 million in research funding in fiscal year 2024, making it the third largest research portfolio in Massachusetts.
