Two days after a 71-year-old lawyer allegedly hurled a shoe at Chief Justice of India (CJI) B R Gavai at the Supreme Court in New Delhi, the police in Bengaluru registered an FIR on Wednesday against him on a complaint filed by another lawyer.

The Vidhana Soudha police booked Rakesh Kishore under sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty) and 133 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour a person, otherwise than on grave provocation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
