BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Bakersfield’s Aaron Nichols won over country superstar Reba McEntire with his rendition of Chris Stapleton’s “Cold” to earn a spot on her team for the reality competition series “The Voice.” She picked him to be the last member of her team of singers during the Oct. 7 telecast of the series seen on KGET-TV.
The first words Nichols said was that he would “love to be on Reba’s team” because she is a blueprint to finding success in the music world. He also would have been happy had he been selected to be part of the team being put together by Snoop Dogg during the blind auditions.
Nichols currently lives in Nashville but grew up in Bakersfield where his single mom juggled long hospital shifts and cleaning jobs to support him and his brothers.
