TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Florida lawmaker has filed a bill requiring universities and colleges in the Sunshine State to rename roads after Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist who died last month.

House Bill 113, filed Tuesday by Republican Kevin Steele of Pasco County, would require state universities and Florida College System (FCS) institution board of trustees to “redesignate specified roads or portions of roads to certain names relating to Charlie James Kirk within specified time period.”

Additionally, the bill requires that state funding be withheld for any university or institution that fails to name a road or portion of roadway after Kirk within a certain time.
