VATICAN CITY — Students from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy in Lakeview met Pope Leo XIV in Vatican City on Wednesday.

The children attended the pontiff's weekly audience — some dressed as the pope, as the swiss guard and cardinals.

At the end of the audience the pope went over to greet the students, shake hands and take pictures.

Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich was also in attendance as he celebrates 50 years as a priest, also known as a 50th jubilee.
