HOUSTON (CW39) — Houston police are investigating after a body was found Wednesday morning in White Oak Bayou near Taylor Street.

According to HPD Public Information Officer Jodie Silva, a caller reported seeing a body in the bayou at 8:15 a.m.. Police responded to the 1900 block of White Oak and that's where the body was recovered from the bayou.

The Houston Police Department is the lead investigating agency and said more information will be released later Wednesday or early Thursday pending further investigation.

No additional details have been released at this time, including the person’s gender, race, age, identity nor cause of death.
