SAN ANTONIO — A former UIW professor has been sentenced to 30 years for possession of child pornography, Bexar County DA Joe Gonzales says.

Troy Mishler was charged with one count of possession of child porn of a child younger than ten years of age, more than 500 visual depictions and an additional count of possession of child porn video.

According to a press release, Mishler admitted in a counseling session during a church conference in Nebraska about his addiction to child porn and being sexually aroused by his adoptive daughters.

After his confession, one church member contacted the local CPS branch. Officials investigated Mishler's home and work where they found more than 500 images and videos of child sex abuse material on his personal and work computers.
