Year 6 student and Mandurah Baptist College head boy Nate May, 11, is in the running to win a Fred Hollows Foundation Humanity Award for his long-term commitment to helping others.

He began volunteering last year and now dedicates several days a week to charity work at Bridge Builders Inc, where he is their 2025 Junior Ambassador and board member alongside his mum Demi.

“Nate inspired us as a family to start volunteering and give back to the community,” Demi said.

“He’s such an incredible leader in that way — being head boy, he’s also influenced kids at school to volunteer as well.”

“I just wanted to show others my age how easy it is to give back and help the less fortunate,” Nate said.

“I really love doing it and know others will too.”
