BROADUS, Mont. – The Broadus Volunteer Fire Department, Powder River County Sheriff’s Office, and Powder River County EMS responded Wednesday to a single-vehicle rollover on a county road.
Officials said the driver swerved to avoid a deer, causing the vehicle to tip over the shoulder. The driver was not injured.
The department reminded drivers that seatbelts can be difficult to remove in overturned vehicles and that injured occupants should not be moved unless there is an immediate danger such as fire or blocked airways. They said careful self-extrication may be the safest option if the vehicle is stable.
Everything was handled safely in this incident, according to the fire department.
