DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- Funeral arrangements are in place for the man affectionately known as "Franco the Foodie".

Camille F. "Franco" Gallo died Saturday, Oct. 4. He was 56 years old.

Gallo was facing health complications as the Miami Valley community was raising money for his second heart transplant. Over $39,900 was raised for him before he died. The community has now surpassed $40k in donations.

"Though Franco’s earthly journey has come to an end, his spirit remains ever-present — in every shared meal, every laugh, and every story told in his memory. The flavors he created, the love he gave, and the joy he brought will continue to nourish the hearts of those he touched," his obituary reads.

A visitation service will be held for Gallo on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Sul
