DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Tuesday was the 6th wettest day for Dayton and the 9th wettest day for Columbus, breaking a nearly 95-year record.

According to the US National Weather Service in Wilmington, the two records for Wednesday, Oct. 7 are: • Dayton: 2.45 inches. The previous record was 1.72 inches in 1931. • Columbus: 1.84 inches. The previous was 1.61 inches in 1998.

“We will have a good chance to dry out after the soaking rain over the past 48 hours. Most spots received 1 to 3 inches with some amounts of 4 to 5 inches near I-70 from east-central Indiana through central Ohio,” wrote the NWS.
