Taylor Swift says she embraces the “chaos” of opinions from critics in the days following the release of her new album The Life of a Showgirl .
The pop singer made an appearance Tuesday on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show, where she spoke about the songwriting process and her fiancé, Travis Kelce.
Swift was also asked how she absorbs fan reactions to her new album and how she deals with critics of her music.
“I welcome the chaos,” Swift said. “The rule of show business is if it’s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping.”
She also welcomed subjective opinions of her music and art, whether good and bad. Rolling Stone gave the album five stars while Pitchfork issued a less-than-impressive grading of 5.9 out of 10.
