It's not a case of full-blown coulrophobia, that paralysing fear of clowns which afflicts so many people. But it's close.

It's more a fear of dirty laundry - a kind of mysophobia, commonly known as germophobia. Understandable because there's been a lot of dirty laundry flapping about the past few days.
