The Arizona Fall League is underway, putting future MLB stars on display in the Valley.
The league started off with a 4-3 win by the Peoria Javelinas over the Scottsdale Scorpions Monday night at Scottsdale Stadium. The other four teams begin play on Tuesday.
From Wednesday on, most days through the end of the regular season on Nov. 12 will feature all six teams playing, while taking most Mondays off.
New this year, all six teams will make the postseason. The lower four teams in the standings will play in the quarterfinals, No. 3 vs. No. 6 and No. 4 vs. No. 5, on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Scottsdale Stadium. The top two seeds will have a bye to the semifinals on Friday, No. 14 facing the winner No. 4 and No. 5 and No. 2 facing the winner of No. 3 and No. 6 at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale.
