BATH, N.H. —

A man accused of killing his sister-in-law and niece in Bath was arraigned on Wednesday.

Charles Readey, 73, appeared in court remotely. He waived the formal reading of the charges and entered no plea.

Readey is being held without bail as he awaits a probable cause hearing, which is set for Oct. 22.

Officials with the attorney general's office said police found Readey at his home on Tyler Way in Bath on Tuesday afternoon with a gun after responding to reports of shots fired.

According to court paperwork, when Bath Police Chief Todd Eck arrived at the scene, he called out Readey's name, and Readey responded, "I'm over here."
