BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man from Brazil, Indiana who pleaded guilty to attacking a woman with a hatchet while wearing a wolf mask has been sentenced in court.

Michael Sheppard was taken into custody after attacking a Brazil woman after she attempted to get a protective order against him.

According to court documents, Sheppard left the courthouse after a hearing and returned to the woman’s home.

When she arrived, he attacked her with a hatchet outside the home.

Then, while wearing a wolf mask, he entered the home, fought with her mother, and attempted to make contact with a child inside the home.

Sheppard was charged with attempted murder, resisting law enforcement and intimidation.

Sheppard initially pleaded not guilty, but on Sept. 10 Sheppard changed his plea.
