LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — According to a project list reviewed by Reuters, the U.S. Department of Energy is considering revoking $1.1 billion in awards to automotive manufacturers, including $500 million allocated to General Motors to convert the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant to EVs.

In July 2024, the White House reported that the plant investment announcement was made as part of former President Joe Biden’s Investing in America agenda.
