CROSS CITY, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is continuing the hunt for information in a decades-old cold case.

FDLE is asking for the public’s help in solving the 1974 homicide of 24-year-old James Norris.

According to FDLE, investigators believe people living in the Miami, Panama City and Steinhatchee area and Citrus County may have information that could help solve this case.

Norris may have been known to people as Richard Gunning and disappeared on a trip to Florida in 1974. His skeletal remains were found two years later in Dixie County.

Investigators say Norris flew from San Fransicso to Miami to buy drugs in Citrus County.
