BARNESVILLE, Ga. — A woman has been arrested for killing a missing person in Lamar County and lying to the police about it, according to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI says Laquinda Moreland, 36, has been arrested for the killing of Charles Tice, 85, from Barnesville. Tice was reported missing in March 2025, and his body was found in Lamar County on April 5, 2025.

The GBI has not released any information about where Tice’s body was found, or how he died.

Moreland, from Knoxville, Tennessee, has been charged with murder, concealing the death of another person, and false statements in connection to Tice’s death, according to the release.

She was arrested in Griffin, and has been booked at the Lamar County Jail, per the GBI.
