MSPCA’s new pathology lab at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston is officially open.

“We have a complete team that descends on your pet to get the diagnosis and treatment that's best for that animal,” said Dr. Patty Ewing, the lab director at Angell Animal Medical Center.

The new space in the pet hospital has an improved blood bank and is full of tools to diagnose an animal’s ailment as soon as possible, in some cases within hours instead of days.

“We also are expanding our microbiology service to include a new technology that will identify the cause of infections more quickly and get animals treated effectively and home back on the couch as soon as possible,” said Ewing. That includes being able to diagnose so
