Brace yourself and your gardens: A more appropriate feel of fall will blast into New England for the second half of the week.

Temperatures will fall to below freezing in many areas just outside of Boston, prompting freeze watches for parts of Massachusetts Thursday night through Friday morning.

"High pressure (will be) parked right overhead (Thursday night and Friday), is going to lead to even colder conditions," StormTeam 5 meteorologist Kelly Ann Cicalese said. "This is enough that (the freezing temperatures) could kill some plants."
