CHELMSFORD, Mass. —

A firefighter staffing dispute in Chelmsford has put a spotlight on two recent deaths in the community.

Early Saturday morning , two men were killed in a fire at a mobile home on Mobile Avenue.

The Chelmsford IAFF Local 1839 firefighters' union says they believe the deaths could have been avoided with proper staffing.

They claim there were only two firefighters on scene for the first eight minutes of that fire.

The union is now calling for action.

"The truth is, Chelmsford is not adequately staffed to handle any-sized fire incident," IAFF Local 1839 President Rob Albon said.
