Pittsburgh City Council members squabbled over a possible agreement with Munhall to assist in the city’s snow removal efforts during a meeting Wednesday afternoon.

The agreement would provide city street sweeping services for Munhall in exchange for snow and ice removal services in neighborhoods such as Lincoln Place, Hays and New Homestead, which already share some roadways with the nearby municipality. Additionally, the city would be permitted to store salt in Munhall’s salt dome.

The legislation will be up for a final vote next week, though it appears unlikely to pass. During Wednesday’s preliminary vote, only Councilwoman Barb Warwick and Council President Dan Lavelle voted in favor of the agreement.
