HUEYTOWN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - One person has been arrested after a teenager was shot in Hueytown earlier this week.

According to Hueytown Police, officers responded to a person shot on the side of the road in the 4300 block of 15th Street, Monday, Oct. 6.

When police arrived, they found a 17-year-old man lying beside his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Hueytown Fire and Rescue responded and took him to UAB Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

Hueytown Police say investigators were given a possible suspect and vehicle description before they located the car in a remote area off of Koppers Drive.

Shortly after recovering the vehicle, authorities took the suspect into custody at their residence.
