GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- Changes are possibly coming to health benefits for Greensboro city workers.

It is all laid out in a memo that was sent to city employees last week.

The changes are expected to take center stage during Wednesday night's city council meeting.

The memo says medical costs have been rising, and healthcare claims have increased by more than 20%.

Add inflation, and the memo says it has created a funding shortfall of $6 million to $7 million each year.

The memo points towards some changes for employees that include a $100 monthly spousal surcharge, increasing deductibles and emergency room co-pays.

While the memo does not say what these increases will be, many city employees are reportedly not happy about it.
