The Press & Guide newspaper will cease publication at the end of the month.

The Dearborn-based media outlet told subscribers in an email that due to "changes in the business model and increasing operating costs," it would close after the Sunday, Oct. 26 edition.

Messages left with the Press & Guide were not immediately returned Wednesday.

MediaNews Group acquired the Press & Guide, the Voice of New Baltimore, the Oakland Press, Macomb Daily, Daily Tribune and News-Herald in 2013. The company owns The Detroit News, more than 70 other daily newspapers, and more than 100 weekly newspapers across the country.
