We're halfway through the fantasy season, and every point matters as you're aiming for the playoffs. As we enter the seventh week of the NFL campaign, we've started to see the trends of which wide receivers are making waves and which might need a new system to find success.
Don't be caught off guard and lock in for what could be the pivotal point of your fantasy league. Here are the wide receivers you should be championing this week, and which you need to stay clear of if you want that dub.
Start - Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams
If there's one player I can highlight and circle twenty times over, it's Adams, who is traveling to London this week to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Matthew Stafford is having an MVP season, leading the league in receiving yards, but his No. 1 receiver, Puka Nacua, has a sprained ankle and is day-to-day, with a long flight overseas still to be taken.
Even if Nacua can go, he won't be 100% and won't be able to play his usual high-octane, physical style. Instead, look for Stafford to lean on Adams heavily, as the two have started to find better chemistry as the season has gone along. Red zone execution is a primary point of training for the Rams, so don't be surprised to see Stafford target his star receiver multiple times in the end zone at Wembley.
Sit - Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
Sutton has been the clear WR1 for the Broncos this season and has put up above-average numbers for the streaking squad. Still, they're coming from a trip abroad back home to Denver against a New York Giants side who might have the most confidence in the league right now. They have an underrated coverage team, which disrupted Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts in back-to-back weeks.
Start - Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks
On Monday night, the Seahawks will face off against a Houston Texans team that has shown significant improvement after a 0-3 start. The Texans boast one of the league's best defensive lines and rushes, but their secondary has been pedestrian so far this season. Look for Sam Darnold to extend his strong play with his favorite target, Smith-Njigba, and to try to go over the top instead of winning through the trenches.
Sit - Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
It's a toxic locker room right now in Miami, and things are not going to get any better until significant changes happen. While I would still favor them over the offensively dull Cleveland Browns, you can't overlook how staunch the Cleveland defense is. They have some true star players on the line and a defense that muddies up games, regardless of how inept their attack is. If you have better options than Waddle or receivers against softer defenses, I'd stay wary of a player going against a hard-nosed defense on a publicly collapsing team.
Start - Mike Evans (or any playable Buccaneers WR), Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Evans was out last week with an injury, but has returned to practice, putting him on track for Tampa Bay's Monday night showdown with the Detroit Lions. Baker Mayfield is having a career year and worked magic versus a tough 49ers defense with back-ups in week six, and he will not fear a shootout with fellow former Rams quarterback Jared Goff.
The biggest thing here for the Bucs is that the Lions, who've had a good secondary this year, will be without their anchor, Brian Branch. Branch is suspended one game for instigating a fight with JuJu Smith-Schuster in Detroit's Sunday night loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Look for the Buccaneers and Lions game to have a lot of fireworks, and with the Lions missing their scout downfield, Evans (or another Buccaneers receiver) could go off for a huge game.
Sit - A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
The defending champions are on a slide, and they need to get it right against a formidable Minnesota Vikings side. Although the Eagles know and want to get the throwing game going, I'm not convinced this is the week they'll air it out. The Vikings boast a strong secondary, but their run defense has been one of the weaker aspects so far in 2025.
Right now, the Eagles can't afford to waste any more games trying to get the throwing game online, which could mean a heavy workload day for Saquon Barkley as the passing game reverts to a dink-and-dunk repetition.
