GRAND FORKS — Police are preparing for a much-anticipated Turning Point USA campus event Thursday, Oct. 9, at the University of North Dakota.
After the murder of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, the Grand Forks Police Department announced an increase in security at public events. They will be joined Thursday by the FBI and Homeland Security to support UND campus police.
UND Police Chief Rodney Clark said people will see a much larger security presence than usual and should anticipate long waits getting into the event because of the increased security measures.
He said everyone will have to go through metal detectors before entering the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center, where the event is being held. No weapons, signs, backpacks or purses will be allowed inside. There will also
