Pinal County officials and the National Weather Service are urging Maricopa residents to prepare for possible flooding this weekend as “more than an October’s worth of rain” from former Hurricane Priscilla moves into Arizona.

A Flood Watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening for much of central and southern Arizona, including Northwest and West Pinal County, according to the NWS in Phoenix. Forecasters say flooding episodes caused by excessive rainfall are possible in low-lying, flood-prone areas.
