John Cohen believes in looking at the big picture when evaluating coaches.

So, when the Auburn athletic director was asked about the temperature of Hugh Freeze’s seat, he’s holding off on any opinions.

“There is, no question, that Auburn’s talent level on the football field is dramatically better than it was just 2 1/2 years ago when coach (Hugh) Freeze took over,” Cohen said during an appearance on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Mobile. “I don’t think that’s something that needs to be overlooked.”

Either can the 0-2 start in the SEC, right?

“I’m somebody who believes in looking at the long-term evaluation,” Cohen said. “Our football team, especially on the defensive side of the ball, has performed at a high level in the last two games. There’s no question about that.”
