PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A trio of appellate court judges swept aside the appeal of a man who was sentenced to life in prison for what one judge called the worst case of neglect he's seen.

And as such, Brandon Walker, convicted of murder in connection with the March 29, 2022, death of Navin Jones, will likely never set foot outside of prison again.

Walker, 25, did win one concession from the 4th District Appellate Court in Springfield, that one of his murder convictions should be vacated due to the state's rule of "one-act, one-crime."

That theory essentially means "multiple convictions may not be based on the same physical act."

However, in Walker's case, the small win means virtually nothing as the judges kept in place the conviction that netted him a life sentence and removed the one
