CARLTON — A man is accused of raping and threatening a woman while holding her against her will.

Tarius Keeshawn Lovejoy, 24, of Saginaw, faces nine charges in the incident, last week in rural Carlton County.

Court documents allege Lovejoy picked up the woman and drove to a location in the woods in Perch Lake Township, west of Cloquet, where he sexually assaulted her. He reportedly threatened violence if she told anyone about it, later tying up her wrists and leaving her in a car.

According to a criminal complaint:

The woman told police she met Lovejoy about three months ago and that she rejected his advances because she had a boyfriend.
