CLAY COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - As part of their efforts in expanding enforcement during the harvest season , the Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Tuesday for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
At approximately 11:47 a.m., reports came in of a semi tractor with a grain trailer “all over the roadway,” the sheriff’s office said. A deputy patrolling the area conducted a traffic stop during which he said he saw an alcoholic beverage being thrown from the passenger window.
The driver of the tractor, 38-year-old William Hood, of Iowa, was arrested and booked into the Clay County Jail.
Based on an evidentiary breath test, his level of intoxication measured over six times the legal limit for a CDL holder operating a commercial motor vehicle.
