TOWN OF DUNN, Wis. -- A Dane County Sheriff's deputy was injured Wednesday while saving someone from a house fire in the Town of Dunn.
Deputies as well as the Stoughton and Oregon EMS and fire departments were called to the 800 block of Norman Drive, just off U.S. Highway 51, at around 4:30 p.m. Flames were visible when crews arrived.
One homeowner was able to get out safely and had called 911, but another homeowner was still inside. A deputy was able to find that homeowner and bring them to safety, and all pets inside were also safely evacuated.
The homeowner and deputy were both taken to local hospitals afterwards, but their injuries are considered minor and they are expected to be okay.
