ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Capital Region BOCES Technical Education Center hosted an event on Wednesday to celebrate Careers in Construction Month. Nearly two dozen local, state and national businesses and union were on campus to meet with students.
The day's activities included heavy equipment demonstrations and hands-on skills training. The initiative aims to boost high school students' knowledge and interest in the construction trades.
"Many of the students are learning about new opportunities, new careers, new pathways once they graduate from Capital Region BOCES," Nancy Liddle, business and community partnerships managing program coordinator, said. "And during their time at Capital Region BOCES, they've talked about internships with many of these companies today."
