URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) -- An Urbana man accused of shooting a woman and sending her to the hospital appeared in court on Wednesday for his arraignment.
21-year-old Noah Allen, is accused of shooting his 21-year-old girlfriend. The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, across the street from Urbana Middle School.
Allen is facing three charges, one of those being attempted first degree murder, with a maximum sentence of 55 years. He's also charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felon.
It's not Allen's first run in with the law. He pleaded guilty to burglary in March 2023. Court records also show Allen has an active no stalking and no contact order against him.
