MASONTOWN, W.Va. — A man wanted for a murder in Ohio was arrested in Preston County Wednesday.
Members of the US Marshals Service Mountain State Fugitive Task Force with assistance from multiple agencies arrested Waymon Donat in the 1200 block of Cales Road in the Masontown area without incident.
Donat, 19, is accused of shooting and killing another person in a shootout in Cleveland in April of this year. Investigators said Donat fired the deadly shot as he was fleeing from the armed altercation.
The U.S. Marshals Service, Northern District of West Virginia received information for their counterparts in Ohio and were able locate and positively identify Donat before his arrest outside at the residence.
