NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- On Wednesday afternoon, FOX 16 News toured Laman Library in North Little Rock as Crystal Gates, the CEO and chief librarian, talked about ways to revamp their libraries.

"When you think of a public library, what's the first thing that comes to mind?" Gates asked.

And that wasn't a trick question, a dozen think of books and a quiet place to relax, but North Little Rock library leaders are reimagining what their libraries mean to the community.

"Sewing machines and quilting and knitting and computers and the thing collection with tools and things like that," Gates said.

Gates is one of many working to make North Little Rock libraries a one-stop shop by implementing programs that convince both children and adults.
