LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - U.S. senators failed to pass a budget bill for the sixth time on Wednesday, extending the government shutdown that began on Oct. 1.
Congressman Mike Flood spoke to 10/11 Wednesday afternoon to voice his frustrations at his fellow lawmaker’s inability to pass a budget bill and reopen the government, again citing democrats as both the cause of and solution for the shutdown.
“That’s what I think is holding this up,” Flood said. “Democrats, their base, wants to show President Trump that they’re fighting back and they’re using federal employees as chess pieces in this obnoxious game.”
