LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A local organization is working to ensure all children receive quality child care regardless of their parents’ income level.
Lincoln Littles helps hundreds of families each year by offering tuition assistance for child care and providing workforce development programs.
During a conference on Wednesday, the organization outlined how much help was provided to families in need.
In 2024 alone, they provided more than $541,000 in ongoing tuition assistance for 289 children.
However, there is growing concern that this number may increase as federal funding provided by the state faces uncertainty. The child care subsidy, Title 20, serves families earning between 130% and 180% of the federal poverty level.
