BOSTON —

The first phases of a peace plan to end the years-long fighting between Israel and Hamas were agreed upon Wednesday with a deal put forward by the Trump administration.

Hamas announced it will release the remaining 20 Israeli hostages, while Israel agreed to pause fighting and withdraw troops from most of Gaza, allowing for more aid to enter the area.

In Massachusetts, the news garnered feelings of cautious optimism as well as anxiousness for the future.

"First, bring the hostages home," said Rabbi Yisroel Freeman of the Chabad Center of Sudbury.

He's among those hoping that the surviving hostages will finally be reunited with their families.

However, he is worried about what this supposed peace plan may look like.
