MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) -- A special event was held Wednesday night to raise money for families battling childhood cancer.
The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund "Champions for Children Gala" was held at Chelsea Piers.
The organization helps provide financial, emotional and other kind of support for families in New York and New Jersey.
The goal is to take some of the stress away from parents so they can help their child beat cancer.
Among Wednesday's honorees was Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman of ESPN.
Among the items were signed Yankees and New York Giants gear.
