LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Henderson’s new police chief is explaining his role in several high-profile leadership changes and expressing a need for more transparency in an interview that has been on hold for months.

During a national night out celebration at Henderson City Hall, Chief Reggie Rader spoke with 8 News Now about changes, policy, and goals for the police department after swearing in for the job in July.

In three months, Rader has overseen several staff departures, which included a deputy chief, and he was asked if he played a role in that decision.

“I definitely had a role in talking to some people on the leadership team,” Rader said. “I was building on if they had a place on that team moving forward. And some folks made the decision to retire.”
