LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Multiple properties on the Las Vegas Strip have unveiled a new set of discounts for locals, many of whom told 8 News Now they are glad to see.

"It's a sign in the right direction," Las Vegas local Stephanie Zuluaga said.

In another effort to entice locals, hotels and venues on the Strip are offering their latest deals, tailored specifically for those living in Southern Nevada.

"It's nice to see that it's becoming a lot more local-friendly again," Las Vegas local Ric Ortega said.

"It's really needed, you know, like locals don't like to come down to the Strip," Las Vegas local Richard Fredriksen added. "And that has been a thing because they've turned us away for so long."
